ABOUT MONTEFIORE CLINIC

A broader way of understanding pain and dysfunction

Why does a problem develop in this particular person, at this particular time?

Evgeny Dizik | Physiotherapist & Osteopath

Practitioner / Clinical Director

Master of Physiotherapy (MPT) | Diploma of Osteopathy (DO)

Evgeny is a specialist in clinical reasoning and persistent musculoskeletal pain. His practice integrates orthopedic manual therapy with a broader osteopathic lens, focusing on how metabolic, mechanical, and neurological factors intersect in the individual patient experience. He is dedicated to understanding why clinical problems develop in particular people at specific times.

Evgeny has worked clinically as a physiotherapist since 2008.

He completed his Bachelor of Physiotherapy at the University of Haifa in 2008, followed by a Master of Physiotherapy at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in 2013.

Seeking a broader framework for understanding complex and persistent musculoskeletal problems, he continued his education in osteopathy at the National Academy of Osteopathy in Toronto, completing his osteopathic studies in 2018.

Evgeny is licensed as a physiotherapist in both Israel and Canada. Over eight years of work in the Israeli HMO system and private clinical practice, he gained extensive experience assessing and treating thousands of patients with a broad range of musculoskeletal conditions.

After establishing his private clinic, he also served as the in-house physiotherapist for the Kolben Dance Ensemble, further developing his experience in the treatment and rehabilitation of professional dancers.

His master's research in physiotherapy investigated dry needling as a technique for addressing scar tissue, while his osteopathic thesis examined the relationship between the masticatory musculature and cervical range of motion.

Clinical focus areas include complex spinal pathology, TMJ dysfunction, chronic pelvic pain, and performance-related dysfunction in dancers and musicians. His work is grounded in assessing the relationship between local structures and global system adaptation, ensuring that treatment is testing-led and outcome-focused for long-term functional restoration.

Dance and performing arts

Performing artists and dancers require a specific clinical understanding. The demands of high-level performance often exceed typical physiological loads, requiring an assessment that considers the specific mechanical requirements of the genre, the timeline of production, and the necessity of maintaining technique during the recovery process.

Why physiotherapy and osteopathy?

01

Where is the source of the mechanical problem?

We distinguish between where you feel pain and the underlying structure responsible for the dysfunction.

02

What clinical factors keep the problem going?

Persistent pain is rarely caused by a single structure; we investigate the habits and movement patterns that prevent natural resolution.

03

Why did this develop at this particular time?

Understanding the context of load and recovery is essential for creating a treatment strategy that provides lasting change.

Start with the problem. Then ask whether it explains enough.

Structural and mechanical integrity of the symptomatic tissue.

Neurodynamic sensitivity and peripheral nerve health.

Force distribution patterns and regional interdependence.

Load management and systemic capacity for adaptation.

Psychophysiological factors and pain processing.

Functional goals and environmental load requirements.

Clinical hypotheses should be tested

Assess

Intervene

Retest

A diagnosis is a starting point, not a conclusion. We treat your response to intervention as new data, refining our understanding of your condition in real-time to ensure the treatment remains targeted and effective.

From the painful structure to the whole patient

Health can be understood partly as the capacity to adapt to load.

The traditional medical model often focuses exclusively on the site of pain—the 'painful structure'. While identifying tissue pathology is important, it rarely tells the full story. Clinical outcomes depend on our ability to look at the whole person: their movement history, their compensatory patterns, and their nervous system's capacity to tolerate and adapt to the specific physical demands of their life. By broadening our lens, we find new avenues for intervention that go beyond temporary symptom relief.

Master of Physiotherapy : Dry needling as a technique for addressing scar tissue.

Clinical inquiry into the mechanical and neurological effects of dry needling on post-surgical adhesions. Exploring the integration of invasive needle techniques within a broader manual therapy framework to improve local tissue mobility and systemic sensory feedback.

Osteopathic research: The relationship between the masticatory musculature and cervical range of motion.

An investigation into the myofascial continuities between the jaw and the upper neck. This research underlines the osteopathic principle of regional interdependence, examining how dysfunction in the chewing apparatus can act as a silent driver for persistent cervical pain and movement restriction.

Treatment at Montefiore Clinic is not dictated by protocol, but by your specific presentation. We combine multiple modalities to address the unique drivers of your pain, ensuring a recovery path that is as individual as your clinical findings.
